County Road 30 A to be exact, is a 30 mile stretch of highway located between Destin and Panama City Beach. Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, WaterColor Resort, Seaside, Seagrove Beach, Seacrest, Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach are all located along this scenic stretch of road. There are many fishing opportunities along the 30A area, and several different launch points. The most common and easily accessible area to fish in the 30A zone is Choctawhatchee Bay. The Choctawhatchee Bay is located north of 30A and can be the most convenient area to access for clients staying along the 30A area. Choctawhatchee Bay hold several species, Redfish, Seatrout, White Trout, Black Drum, Jack Crevelle, Bluefish, Ladyfish and Spanish Mackrel are the most common. But certainly the “star” of the show in the Choctawhatchee Bay has to be the BULL REDFISH. As Redfish reach about 30 inches we call them “BULL” redfish, and while it is illegal to keep a redfish over 27 inches, the “BULLS” can be one of the toughest sport fish our area has to offer. The BULL Redfish is Choctawhatchee Bay average 20-25 lbs and can reach weights of well over 30lbs.
