Fishing Access Steps from One of 30A’s Premier Communities

Watercolor is a thoughtfully designed beach town along Scenic 30A, developed by the St. Joe Company in the late 1980s. Known for its southern coastal charm and walkable village feel, Watercolor is also home base for some of the most conveniently located fishing clients we serve.

Shallow Water Expeditions operates out of Old Florida Outfitters, right in the Watercolor shopping village, and provides direct access to bay and beach fishing. Launch points are just minutes away, with both bay and Gulf trips available depending on conditions.

Why Watercolor is a Strategic Spot for Anglers

  • Centrally located on 30A with easy access to multiple ramps
  • Close proximity to Choctawhatchee Bay, West Bay, and St. Andrews Bay
  • Flexible options for beach or bay trips depending on season and wind
  • One of the most walkable, family-friendly fishing destinations on the Gulf

We frequently serve Watercolor guests for bay trips targeting redfish and trout, or Gulf outings chasing jacks and tarpon.

What You’ll Catch

  • Redfish: Abundant in the bays and marsh edges near Point Washington
  • Spotted Seatrout: Often found over grass flats during spring and fall
  • Jack Crevalle: Common inshore during warmer months
  • Tarpon: Possible along the beach and at bay entrances during summer
  • Spanish Mackerel: Active nearshore when baitfish are thick
